I failed installing RQDA on Debian 11, but I was able to install QualCoder to do qualitative analysis of text and imgages. It is also Free-Open Source, but it does not run in R but with Python virtual environment. So far I have liked it more than Atlas.ti web version (which, in addition, is paid)

I tried to follow the instructions to install qualcoder on a Debian 11(.7) but it failed to launch. Here, there is the error:
# qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin “xcb” in “” even though it was found.
# This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
# Available platform plugins are: offscreen, xcb, minimalegl, linuxfb, wayland, minimal, vkkhrdisplay, wayland-egl, vnc, eglfs.
With some searchs, I reinstalled pyqt5 ir pyqt6 or the needed libraries but… the same error come again. 😦
(when I also tried to launch the Ubuntu executable, there was another error with libc6 which will be only updated with the next Debian version…)
If you have any ideas… !
(and many thanks for this work… I tried years ago with the “end” of RQDA!)
Hi Paul, have you tried the manual install instructions here – the section for Debian/Ubuntu:
https://github.com/ccbogel/QualCoder/blob/master/README.md
You might have to open an issue on the GitHub Page and we can work through it gradually there.
